Alert level restrictions for Auckland will ease next week

It was announced on Monday 1 November, Covid-19 restrictions will be eased for Auckland next Tuesday, 9 November at 11:59pm.  This means outdoor gatherings can increase to 25 and public facilities, such as libraries and zoos, and retail can open with mask-wearing, contact tracing and physical distancing.

Bowls New Zealand has provided guidance and recommendations for clubs operating under Alert Level 3, Step 2:

 

  • Gatherings (not events) of no more than 25 persons may take place on the green.
  • Providing the club does not expect more than 25 people at any gathering, there is no need for their members to advise their intention to visit the club.
    • bubbles may mix.
    • bowlers may switch rinks. 
  • Clubrooms may be open only for essential services (eg toilets).
  • The wearing of face coverings is encouraged.
  • Physical distancing of 2 metres is strongly encouraged.
  • Mats and Jacks may be used, but they must be sanitised before and after play.
  • Persons visiting the club must sign in with the NZ Covid Tracer app, or sign a register – this register/sign-in must be available on the outside of the clubrooms/facility.
  • Bowlers should take sanitising wipes with them to wipe down mats, jacks, gate entry, seats etc.
