Congratulations to Hillsboro Bowling Club who have won the Friday Interclub Final over Oratia Bowling Club2-1.

With the score at one game each the third game went to an extra end to decide the final.  Hillsboro who were trailing 19-21 going into the final end picked up a two to tie the score at 21-21 at the end of the regulation 18 ends. 

In the extra end Hillsboro picked up a single shot to take the game and with it the Friday Interclub title.

The results for the three games were as follows:

Game 1: Hillsboro 20 – 13 Oratia Game 2:  Oratia 24 – 7 Hillsboro Game 3:  Hillsboro 22 – 21 Oratia (after extra end)

Friday Interclub semi finals went down to the wire on Friday 26th March at Onehunga Bowling Club.

The semi finalists participating were Hillsboro playing Pt Chevalier Pirates and Oratia playing Carlton Cornwall.

Hillsboro A lost their match to the very strong Alf Dickens and team 16-14. However Pt Chevalier’s Ray Hills was no match for Grahame Catton and went down 21-15. The final of the three games between Ivan Botica and Olivia Bloomfield was a cliff hanger all the way and the final score was 18-17 to Hillsboro to put them through to the final.

Carlton Cornwall, who have played strongly all the way through the competition came up against another in form club in Oratia. Oratia was decidedly the victors in the clash winning all three games by large margins.

The final of the Friday Interclub competition will be played at Onehunga Bowling Club on Friday 9th April.
