Saturday Interclub Wraps Up

30 Oct 2017

The final rounds of Saturday Interclub were played on Saturday and thankfully it turned out to be a reasonable day after overnight rain threatened to disrupt proceedings.

Congratulations to the winners of all divisions!

In Men's Premier division it was a win for Mangere who were closely followed by the newly formed Royal Oak club.  These two clubs were some distance ahead of St Heliers in third.  Carlton Cornwall took out the Women's Premier division in style with just 2 points separating Howick in second and Blockhouse Bay in fifth.  Goes to show that every point counts!

Glen Eden and Royal Oak Burgundy have earned promotion to the Premier Men's Division for next season replacing Howick and East Tamaki who drop down to first division.  In the Women's, Mangere and Royal Oak have earned promotion with Carlton Cornwall Black and the composite side from Mt Eden returning to Division One.

The victors in the remaining Men's Divisions 2-6 were Pringle Park Lightning, Onehunga and Districts A, New Lynn Two, Papatoetoe Red and Pt Chevalier Swashbucklers respectively.  Blockhouse Bay Two were victorious in Women's Division Two.

In the Half Day Sixes competition it was Auckland Red that came out on top in the Blue Section with Howick Red in second and Kohimarama Gold in third.  In the Red section Oratia made a return to the winners circle accumulating 30 points across the six rounds with Titirangi Tui's in second on 24 points.

Well done to all the competing clubs.  Attention now moves to National Interclub which gets underway this weekend
