New Zealand's National Open Championship Winners at Taranaki will be winging their way to Sydney later this week to compete in the World Champion of Champion Singles at St Johns Park, commencing Monday morning.
This event is contested annually between bowlers who have won their respective national singles title.
Selina Goddard (Carlton Cornwall) and Dean Elgar (West End, Taranaki) will be flying the flag high for New Zealand.
The competition, which runs from Monday 30th October through to Sunday 5th November, features 29 men's singles champions and 24 women's champions from around the world.
The Men's competition has been won twice by New Zealanders since its inception in 2003 - Ali Forsyth in 2004 and Tony Grantham in 2007.
The Women's event was won by Jan Khan (2010), Jo Edwards (2011), and Sandra Keith (2012)
Elgar will meet England and Canada in his first day's play in Section 1 while Goddard will be taking on Nuie and Malaysia on Monday in Women's Section 2.
