Saturday Interclub Results
16 Oct 2017
The first signs of summer came at the right time as a full weekend of interclub was played at venues across Auckland. Over 700 competitors took to 22 different greens across 17 clubs to play the first four rounds of Interclub for the season.
Mangere has taken the early lead in the Men's Premier Division gaining good wins across the four rounds to lead on 27 points with Blockhouse Bay in second on 22 points and Royal Oak in third on 19 points. Mangere and Blockhouse Bay clash in round six in what could prove the decisive fixture.
Carlton Cornwall Gold lead the Women's Premier Division with 24 points closely followed by Howick (20 points) and Pt Chevalier (18). With three rounds still to play this is a very even division with just 12 points separating first from last.
The star performers of the weekend are the Mangere side from Women's Division One who dropped just the one game all weekend to bag 30 points and comfortably lead that division.
The Half Day Sixes Competition also got underway with 18 sides competing in two zones. The Blue Zone of mainly central and eastern clubs is lead by Auckland Red with Oratia leading the Red Section. They are in a tight tussle with the two sides from Blockhouse Bay.
