Rep Round Up

10 Oct 2017

The representative programme for 2017-2018 got underway on Saturday with all sides in action.

At New Lynn Bowling Club the Open Sides took on North Harbour in the Battle of the Bridge.  It was a very tight competition with a number of games going down to the last end and the last bowl.

The Auckland Women had a good win 15 - 9, with the Men going down 7 - 16.  The overall result going to North Harbour 25, (-1)  - Auckland 22 (+1).  Congratulations to North Harbour and well done to all involved.  Thanks to Umpire Les Smith and the team at New Lynn Bowling Club.

1 - 8 YEAR

The 1-8 Year sides travelled to Maungaturoto to take on Northland and North Harbour.  The Women beat both North Harbour (7-4) and Northland (6 +13 - 6 -13), but in the wash up this was only good for second place as Northland beat North Harbour 9-3.  The men won six of eight games to win comfortably and give Auckland the overall win for the day with 31 points; Northland 24; North Harbour 16.

1 - 5 YEAR

Back closer to home the 1-5 Year sides made the short trip to Hobsonville to take on the same opposition as the 1-8 Year sides.  The Women got off to a great start with a clean sweep of four wins against Northland.  Unfortunately they were unable to back this up in the afternoon taking just one game against North Harbour.

It was a similar result for the men with four wins against Northland and only one against North Harbour.  However with North Harbour dropping two games to Northland this was enough to squeeze out a win for the day 15 +33 against North Harbour's 15 +12.  The overall result for the day went North Harbour's way as they take the advantage into the December fixture.  North Harbour 34 points; Auckland 30; Northland 7.
