Successful and Sustainable Clubs
27 Jun 2017
Auckland Bowls has released a report that will be the blue print to creating a network of Successful and Sustainable Clubs. A presentation was made following the AGM last night which received a very positive response from those in attendance.
A key strategy of Auckland Bowls is to produce a network of clubs that are both successful and sustainable, not just for now but for many years to come. The report recommends a pathway for this to be achieved. But it is not a strategy that can be achieved without the support of club leaders and their clubs.
The key aim of the report is to:
Develop a view of how a "successful and sustainable club network" may look in the future.
Initiate discussion between bowling clubs and with key decision makers and funders within the Auckland region over the future bowls network.
Assist with the long term decision making and re-focus of resources that Auckland Bowls will be required to make.
To identify how to achieve Strategic Goal One of the Auckland Bowls Strategic Plan - Ensure a Sustainable Network of Clubs.
After considering previous reports and the current situation the outcome of the report is to create a proposed network plan that categorises current clubs into the following two areas:
Community Clubs in Distinct Location
been grouped with neighbouring clubs to produce 11 Club Groups. There are a further six clubs that are
considered Community Clubs. The plan
acknowledges that one size does not fit all.
We cannot treat all clubs the same.
