Rep Round up

10 Apr 2017

Our up and coming bowlers were in action over the weekend with the 1-8 Year sides playing in the National Under 8's Intercentre in Christchurch and our 1-5 Year sides playing a fixture against Waikato in Cambridge.

The 1-8 Year Women's side performed well in Christchurch totally dominating their competition in section play to easily win Section One.  They won 11 of 12 games to bag 33 points with second place Hawkes Bay on 19 points.

Unfortunately in an unlucky draw for the quarterfinals they were pitted against Wellington who were in red hot form also winning 33 points from their section.  A narrow loss in the singles and pairs and a draw in the fours saw Wellington progress.  With Wellington going on to lose a tight battle in the final to Dunedin.

The Auckland 1-8 Year Men had a tough time of it in section play and were unable to consistently score points across the five rounds.  They ended in third on 18 points, which was agonisingly one point behind second placed Wellington with the top two in each section progressing.  Congratulations to North Harbour who defended the title they won last year as well.

The Auckland 1-5 Year Men's and Women's squads travelled to Cambridge on Saturday to take on Waikato in their last fixture for the season.  Congratulations to all involved as they won the fixture by winning 10 of 12 matches to take the tie 30 points to 6.

Thank you to Bowls Waikato for hosting the fixture and we look forward to the return leg next season.
