Rep Round up
31 Mar 2017
The Auckland Women had a great start to the National Intercentre in Wellington last weekend when they qualified for the quarterfinals. With Northland also in their section, the two Zone One sides dominated the competition in section play. Auckland was then drawn against Bay of Plenty in the quarterfinals. This was a very tight battle with the singles finishing at 20-20 following confirmation that Bay of Plenty narrowly won the pairs 14-11 and the fours 17-14. Bay of Plenty then went on to win the title in the final against Counties Manukau. Great to see so many Northern Region teams in the final stages of competition!
The Auckland Men were unfortunately unable to defend the National Intercentre title they won last year. They got off to a very good start on the first day of competition and were right in the mix to qualify for post section. Unfortunately the second day of competition proved their undoing as they won just one of six games to drop out of contention.
A strong Canterbury side won the title over North Harbour in the final.
Closer to home our Men's and Women's 1-8 Year Sides were doing battle at Browns Bay against North Harbour, Northland and Counties Manukau. Unfortunately the day was washed out with only two of the three scheduled rounds able to be completed.
