National Intercentre

23 Mar 2017

The Auckland Men's and Women's Representatives Sides have made their way to Wellington for the Bowls NZ National Intercentre which starts tomorrow.

The Auckland Men are the current title holders so they will be very keen to get off to a great start as the look to defend the title they won on home soil last year.  The women will be looking to improve on a quarterfinal finish from last year where they lost in a very close match to eventual champions Northland.  The side will get an early chance for revenge as both Auckland and Northland have been drawn in the same section!

The format for the competition sees section play across Friday and Saturday with the top two sides from each section qualifying for the quarterfinals.  It will then be knockout through until a champion is found on Sunday afternoon.  Headquarters for the event is the Wilton Bowling Club.

The Auckland Men are drawn at Johnsonville on Friday and Silverstream on Saturday while the women are drawn to play at Massey Ave on Friday and Wilton on Saturday.
