Two extremely close Semi-finals in the Women's Pairs. First Semi-final between Diane Harris & Sue Peters (Howick Women's) played a great game against Alison Rennie & Jill Fraser (Carlton Cornwall). Rennie and Fraser stormed ahead and won the first 4 ends making the score 10-0 in the 4th end. It wasn't looking great for Harris and Peters as they also lost the 6th and 7th end also. From the 8th end they came back very strongly taking the next 4 ends bring the score to 13-9 in the 12th end with Harris and Peters still tailing. Rennie and Fraser couldn't keep the winning streak up and dropped the last 4 ends the final score being 17-16 to Harris and Peters.
In the second Semi-final Aggie Motu and Kirsty Hill (Pt Chevalier) had an excellent game against Karen Hema and Rebecca Jelley (Carlton Cornwall). Hema and Jelley led up until the 10th end when Motu and Hill turned up their game and evened up the score 8-8. From here Motu and Hill took the lead until the 14th end where it was all tied up again 12-12. Now it was Hema and Jelleys turn to take the lead which they held onto until the very last end and where Motu and Hill won that end with a 2 to take the win 16-15.
