Champion of Champion Triples Winners

The Men's winning team for 2015-2016 in the Auckland Champion of Champion Triples is Jordan King, Chris Lowe, Peter Thorne (Hillsboro). Hillsboro were too strong for the team of Shane McGonagle, Don Faifua, Mamae Taurua (Grey Lynn) who played some great bowls but just couldn't match the strength of the Hillsboro team to take the win. The final score was 17-7 to Hillsboro. Well done.  

The Women's new Auckland Champion of Champion Triples winners are Chris Pegg, Judi Raill and Merise Taiaroa (Glen Eden). This was a cracker of game with the team from Carlton Cornwall - Karen de Jongh, Judi Wong and Bev Crowe making a great come back after letting the game slip away from them. They put up a great fight and some really amazing bowls were played, but they just couldn't quite find their way back to take the win. Glen Eden winning 15-11. Great game!

The Finalists in the Men are: Jordan King, Chris Lowe, Peter Thorne (Hillsboro) vs Shane McGonagle, Don Faifua, Mamae Taurua (Grey Lynn).

These 2 teams have played some excellent bowls to get into the final. In the Semi's Hillsboro came up against the Mangere team of Keshwa, Ben Wei and Mike Haupapa. Hillsboro talent really showed an Mangere struggled to close the gap, losing the game 18-6. The second Semi-Final was between Grey Lynn and the team of Bob Menzies, Colin Taylor and Jimmy Sheilds from Te Atatu Peninsula who gave Grey Lynn a good game but didn't quite manage to out play the Grey Lynn team on the day. Grey Lynn winning 15-11.

In the Women's Final: Karen de Jongh, Judi Wong and Bev Crowe (Carlton Cornwall) vs Chris Pegg, Judi Raill and Merise Taiaroa (Glen Eden).

Carlton Cornwall came up against Corinne Pritchard, Collen Pert and Linda Verran from Hillsboro Women's. Carlton Cornwall played an extremely strong game of bowls and Hillsboro Women really didn't get too much of a look in losing the game 22-12. The second Semi-Final between Glen Eden and Sue Curran, Paula Kempthorne, Helen Blick  from St Heliers was a very close game. Two solid sides that really gave their all, both taking some great ends but it was Glen Eden that proved to be the stronger team today winning 16-15.
