Men's Singles Quarter Finals and the Women's Singles Semi Finals

Our first Semi Finalist for The Trusts Men's Singles is Scott Cottrell (Waiheke) he played against Richard Cory (Victoria). Cory started the scoring by taking the first 3 ends 9-0. Then it was Cotrells turn to take 3 ends to bring the score to 6-9. Cottrell jumped ahead by taking 6 ends bringing the score to 17-10 in the 13th end. In the 14th end Cory made a last ditch effort to narrow the gap but couldn't quite manage more then a 2. The final score was 21-12 to Scott Cottrell.
Peter Puschamann (St Heliers) played Joe Whitelaw (Otahuhu Railway). Joe was first on the scoreboard taking the first 4 ends. Whitelaw lead until the 9th end where Puschmann evened the score up 8-8. Puschmann held onto his lead from the 10th end with Whitelaw never far behind but not quite managing to overtake Puschmann who won 21-16.
Allan Batley (Paritutu) played Michael Galloway (Hillsboro). This was a real battle of a game and in the 9th end was all tied up 6-6. Galloway snuck ahead and was in the lead up until the 20th end when Batley evened things up again 15-15. Batley charged ahead from here and ended the the game with a win 21-16.
Richard Girvan (Nelson Bays) played Davide Eades (Orewa). Girvan took an early lead and held onto it right to the finish. The score not a good indication of the game that was played. Eades was always pushing Girvan but could never quite close the gap. Girvan finished the game with a comfortable win 21-15.
The first Finalist in the The Trusts Women's Singles is Reen Stratford (Aramaho) she played Jeanette Scarrott (Mt Wellington). It was a close start to the game until Stratford won a 4 on the 6th end and the also won the next 2 ends taking the score to 11-3 in the 8th end. Scarrott came charging back winning the next 5 ends evening up the score 11-11 in the 13th end. Stratford came back and won a 4 in the 14th end followed up by a 3 in the 15th end 18-11. Scarrott didn't have answer and the final score was 21-15 to Reen Stratford 21-15.
Natarsha Grimshaw (Papakura) played Christine Buchanan (Queenstown). This game was neck and neck right up to the finish with everyone watching on the edge of their seats. Grimshaw lead the majority of the game but in the 28th end Buchanan took the lead 20-19. Under a lot of pressure Grimshaw still managed to finish the game with a 2 to win the game in the 29th end 21-20.
