Canterbury win Northern Quadrangular 

 

Canterbury triumphed in the annual Northern Quadrangular in both the Women's and Men's 

sections over the weekend against teams from Wellington, Marlborough and Dunedin. 

 

Women's A Team Results: 

1st  Wellington  16 points and +56 differential

2nd  Canterbury  12 points and +66 differential

3rd  Marlborough  6 points and -50 differential

4th  Dunedin  2 points and -72 differential

Women's B Team Results: 

1st  Canterbury  16 points and +51 differential

2nd  Marlborough  11 points and +31 differential

3rd  Wellington  5 points and -34 differential

4th  Dunedin  4 points and -48 differential

The B Team changed personnel around but that did not upset their rhythm as they 

finished the weekend undefeated with 7 wins and 2 draws.

1st  Canterbury  28 points and +107 differential

2nd  Wellington  21 points and +22 differential

3rd  Marlborough  17 points and -19 differential

4th  Dunedin  6 points and -120 differential

  

Men's A Team Results: 

1st  Wellington  12 points and +17 differential

2nd  Marlborough  8 points and +38 differential

3rd  Dunedin  8 points and -10 differential

4th  Canterbury  8 points and -45 differential

The Wellington Fours team skipped by Gary Lawson went through the weekend unbeaten.

1st  Canterbury  14 points and +46 differential

2nd  Dunedin  12 points and +58 differential

3rd  Wellington  6 points and -9 differential

4th  Marlborough  4 points and -95 differential

The Canterbury Men's Pairs team of Alvin Gardiner and Paul Matheson had 3 good wins 

over the weekend.

3rd  Wellington  18 points and +8 differential

The Centre Challenge Cup competed for by Wellington and Canterbury Men's A Teams 

was retained by Canterbury for a 5th successive year with a 2-1 victory.
