Success for Auckland at the National Secondary Schools
17 Dec 2014
The National Secondary Schools Tournament was held at Howick Bowling Club from the Sunday the 13-16 December 2014. Giving it their all throughout the tournament, the young Auckland bowlers proved how hard they had worked during the year with their results.
The highlight of the tournament went to the Girls Pairs, Alex and Michelle Greer, taking out the event in style and claiming the gold medal for their school St Dominic’s College. St Dominic’s have been keen supporters of Auckland Bowls for many years with players from the school winning the pairs competition three times in the past four years.
Other achievements at the tournament were Aiden Takarua - St Peter’s College, Boys Singles and Mackenzie Blucher - St Dominic’s College, Girls Singles both receiving bronze medals.
Aiden, Mackenzie and Alex were part of the Under 18 side involved in the “Across the Ditch” challenge in December.
Well done to all the players for your efforts, Auckland Bowlers are proud of you all.
