Saturday Interclub Hits Top Gear
15 Oct 2014
A full three rounds of Saturday Interclub were completed on Saturday. Played in fine and warm conditions it meant all 900 participants could take to the greens across Auckland for the first time this season.
Status quo remains in Men's Premier with the early pacesetters Blockhouse Bay retaining their lead at the top of the table. Onehunga has slipped one win behind following a five win, four loss day, now equal second with Howick on 18 points. With two rounds remaining the title is well and truly up for grabs with all eight sides having a mathematical chance of winning.
Carlton Cornwall Premier Women enjoyed a great day and now have a handy four point lead at the top of the Women's Premier Division. Howick and Pakuranga who led after day one are now in second and third respectively.
East Tamaki are knocking of the door for promotion to Premiers holding a five point lead in Men's Division One. Pt Chevalier Pirates have similar ambitions in Women's Division One and now hold a four point lead over Glendowie.
Onehunga and Districts Black in Men's Division Five and Otahuhu Railway Gold in Men's Division Seven were the only side across all divisions to have a perfect day winning all nine matches and in the process taking a commanding lead of their respective divisions.
