Shock Results at Secondary Schools

The Secondary Schools pairs were played at four clubs in Auckland in calm weather conditions but this was not the case on the green.
Girls: Mackenzie Blucher and Alex Greer (St Dominic’s),Tabitha Gabriel and Janay Talo (McAuley High School last years winners and runners up were both eliminated in the Post Section . Antonia Victor and Kate Cassidy, who performed very well in the Secondary School Nationals, will play Michelle Greer and Monique Barnes in the final at Kohimarama Bowling Club next Monday commencing at 9.00am
Boys: The post section in the pairs will be played at Remuera Bowling Club with Auckland Grammar School in a great position. Holding six of the eight places in the event Auckland Grammar will face Mt Albert Grammar and Massey High School. Auckland students have been training since their selection following their performance at the Introductory tournament held in March.
The singles event will commence on Monday 26th May at Remuera and Kohimarama Bowling Clubs with some interesting games being played in both genders. Mackenzie Blucher will be defending her title and Aiden Takarua (St Peter’s College) not playing pairs this year and the up and coming Terrence King (Mt Albert Grammar).

Boys Pairs Quarter Finals: Jack Iles and Mack Waite (Auckland Grammar) vs George Kirkwood and James Sandlin(Auckland Grammar); Tom Shuker and Hamish Duley (Auckland Grammar) vs Zaylin Ross and Hezekiah Haverfield (Massey High); Reagan Wakeling and Taylor Scott (Auckland Grammar) vs Lester and Taylor (Mt Albert Grammar); Nick Boyden and Tom Livingston (Auckland Grammar) vs Zac Speedy and Andre De Jong (Auckland Grammar)
Players will be selected after this event to attend a training camp for the Regional Playoffs.
